Little Find

You recharged your phone, but what about yourself?

You’re always checking your phone battery is charged, but are you taking care of your own battery? Do you think you are safe from burnout because you like working hard and making a contribution? Watch out; your commitment and enthusiasm will sometimes mean you ignore the warning signs.

You are lucky enough to enjoy what you do and devote yourself fully to it. But did you know that you are also one of the profiles most at risk from burnout? It’s something that seems unthinkable until the day you suddenly have to give up working because you are running on absolute empty.
Fulfillment for you is feeling you are making a positive contribution – so much so, in fact, that you forget that your contribution is rooted in you being in good health, physically and mentally.
Here is a triple check-up for you to carry out on a regular basis – it will help you spot any loopholes:

  • Are you in good physical shape? Is your lifestyle healthy enough to sustain your activity?
  • Are you surrounded by the right people? Do you spend enough time with your family and friends? Do you talk about things, even superficially, with your neighbors or people you meet?
  • Do you know how to recharge your mental battery? Are your intellectual and spiritual needs fulfilled? Do you find time for activities that relax you? Do you ever take stock of your career?

Don’t wait until you are exhausted before identifying areas for improvement!
